CASA CASBAH
CANGGU, BALI, INDONESIA
Spread over 2,500m2 in the heart of surf village, Canggu an abandoned villa overwhelmed by the tropics next to a majestic hindu temple on the beach provided the perfect setting. As the project Architect and Interior Designer our brief was to restore and enhance the existing structure with the addition of a new building. Sweeping plantation style terraces framed by large, sliding shutter doors enclose the internal spaces. A single palm tree flanked by columns linking the buildings. Painted white wood, white polished concrete and limestone are the predominant materials against the lush, green, minimalist and considered plants and trees with the bold, blue pool reigning supreme over the space in true tropical style.
